Pakistan has selected Mohammed Ali Naqvi's documentary Hanging by a Wire as its entry for best international feature film at the 2027 Oscars, according to The Hollywood Reporter. It is the first film Pakistan has ever selected to contend at the Academy Awards.
The documentary is written and produced by Naqvi and Bilal Sami. Its producers include EverWonder Studio, Universal Pictures Content Group, Mindhouse Productions and 64th Street Media.
Hanging by a Wire first bowed at Sundance. Dogwoof is handling a theatrical release in the U.K., while Abramorama will release the film in the U.S.
