PaperAirplane's The Hangar Hits 2 Million Downloads
PaperAirplane's The Hangar digital asset platform passed 2 million downloads, announced at Cinema United's Fall Summit.
PaperAirplane's The Hangar, a digital asset management platform used for theatrical marketing, has surpassed 2 million downloads, the company announced during Cinema United's Fall Summit. The milestone reflects the platform's growing role in how studios distribute approved marketing materials to exhibitors and partners.
Downloads have accelerated sharply since the platform launched. The Hangar's volume of digital marketing assets has increased more than fivefold since its creation, according to the company.
Social media videos were the most downloaded asset type this summer, accounting for 27% of all downloads. Social Media Graphics followed at 23%, Digital Lobby Posters at 19%, Web Banners at 12%, and Production Stills at approximately 8%.
PaperAirplane has produced nearly 75,000 studio-approved digital marketing assets and has worked on more than 250 theatrical releases. Deadline reported the download milestone.
Built by distribution veterans
In October 2020, Lionsgate distribution veterans Mike Polydoros and Will Preuss opened PaperAirplane and launched The Hangar at the height of the pandemic. Earlier this year, the company expanded with its National Radio & Media Ambassador Division. To date, The Tower, another PaperAirplane product, has managed more than 10,000 group sales leads, and the company's films have collectively generated nearly half a billion in domestic box office.
