Paramount TV Studios Signs Exclusive Overall Deal With Bash Doran
Under the pact, Doran and her company Pete's Uncle will create, develop and produce original scripted series for the studio.
Paramount Television Studios has signed an exclusive overall deal with writer Bash Doran to create, develop and produce original scripted series through her company Pete's Uncle, according to Deadline. The deal was negotiated before Paramount's merger with Warner Bros. Discovery closed.
Pete's Uncle is Doran's company with producing partner Mallory Baysek. Doran developed and co-wrote the pilot for the HBO Max drama series How to Survive Without Me with Greg Berlanti; the series stars Ray Romano, Kaley Cuoco and Joshua Jackson and is produced by Warner Bros. Television.
Doran also wrote the Paramount+ limited series Fear Not, starring Anne Hathaway, from MGM Television. Fear Not received a six-episode straight-to-series order at Paramount+, and How to Survive Without Me received a 15-episode series order at HBO Max.
Over the past year or so, Doran received three green lights: the six-episode order for Fear Not at Paramount+, plus pilot pickups for How to Survive Without Me at HBO Max and Foster Dade at Hulu. She created and executive produced Traitors for Channel 4 and Netflix, was co-executive producer on Hulu's The Looming Tower, a consulting producer on Netflix's Beef, and a writer-producer on NBC's Smash, Showtime's Masters of Sex and HBO's Boardwalk Empire.
Doran co-wrote the Netflix film Outlaw King, starring Chris Pine and directed by David Mackenzie. Her upcoming movie Henry, financed by StudioCanal and starring Ralph Fiennes, was shooting in 2026. Doran and Baysek launched Pete's Uncle in 2022.
