Blumhouse Sets Paranormal Activity 8 for May 21, 2027
The eighth Paranormal Activity film will return to the house from the 2007 original, Blumhouse announced at New York Comic Con.
Blumhouse announced at its New York Comic Con panel that Paranormal Activity 8 will be set in the same house as the original Paranormal Activity film. The studio dated the movie for May 21, 2027.
Ian Tuason will direct. Oren Peli, James Wan and Jason Blum are producing the film.
Returning to the original house
At the panel, Jason Blum said Paranormal Activity was the film that put Blumhouse on the map. The original Paranormal Activity was released in 2007, and the most recent entry in the franchise came out in 2021.
Blumhouse eventually let the franchise go because it felt overdone, according to the panel. Years later, Atomic Monster's James Wan suggested making a new Paranormal Activity movie, and Blum agreed.
