Particle 6 Taps Rob Minkoff for AI Film 'Storm Dogs'
Particle 6 announces Rob Minkoff as executive producer on 'Storm Dogs,' an AI-assisted family adventure film targeted for 2027 production.
Particle 6 has brought Rob Minkoff on board as executive producer of its upcoming AI film Storm Dogs, the studio announced at the Zurich Film Festival Summit. Minkoff directed Stuart Little and The Lion King.
Storm Dogs is an original idea from Particle 6 founder Eline van der Velden, described as a family adventure comedy-drama set in an English village during a devastating storm. The film will combine live-action performances with photorealistic animated characters.
The project is in early development, with production targeted for 2027. Distribution has not been announced.
Van der Velden returned to the Zurich summit a year after unveiling the AI actress Tilly Norwood there. She said Particle 6 has grown eight-fold and now operates four departments. The studio has declined offers for Norwood to appear in traditional films, she added.
Norwood, meanwhile, said she would like to work with Tom Holland and Olivia Colman only as their digital twins in an AI production, and that she has not met U.S. agents for representation. She previously malfunctioned during a live TV interview with Piers Morgan, switching into Cantonese. Variety reported on the announcements.
