Peacock Cancels Spy Comedy 'Ponies' After One Season
The eight-episode series starring Haley Lu Richardson and Emilia Clarke was axed over low ratings, according to Deadline.
Peacock has canceled the spy comedy series Ponies after a single eight-episode season, with low ratings cited as the reason, according to Deadline.
The show did not appear among the top-10 Nielsen-rated streaming shows during its run, The Hollywood Reporter noted.
Ponies debuted on Peacock on January 15, 2026, created by Susanna Fogel and David Iserson and starring Haley Lu Richardson and Emilia Clarke. Set in 1977, it followed two U.S. Embassy secretaries in Moscow who become CIA operatives.
Despite the cancellation, the series drew strong critical notice. It earned a 94% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes, with The Guardian's Lucy Mangan calling it weirdly joyful and bizarrely endearing, and Variety's Alison Herman writing that the leads' chemistry drives the show.
