Pirate Mo Sells Past 50 Countries Ahead of AFM Premiere
Umbrella Entertainment, FilmHouse and Skyline Media are among the latest buyers for the animated family film from The Playmaker Munich.
The Playmaker Munich has closed further territory deals on the animated family film Pirate Mo and the Legend of the Red Ruby ahead of the American Film Market, where the title will have its market premiere, according to Variety. The sales company said the film has now sold to more than 50 countries.
Among the new buyers, Umbrella Entertainment acquired rights for Australia and New Zealand, FilmHouse took Israel and Skyline Media picked up Vietnam. Variety also debuted the film's teaser.
Pirate Mo and the Legend of the Red Ruby is directed by Florian Westermann, co-director of The Amazing Maurice. The screenplay is written by Richie Conroy and Westermann and is based on Kirsten Boie's novel Seeräubermoses.
DCM Distribution handles Germany and Austria, with a theatrical release set for April 29, 2027. The producers are Emely Christians, Sonja Matthes, Michael Lehmann, Holger Ellermann, Dunja Bernatzky, Kris Staber, Nicolás Matji and Edmon Roch.
The production companies are Ulysses Films, Letterbox Filmproduktion, Isla Molona AIE, Arxlight Pictures and Arx Anima.
