BBC and Stan Buy Paramount+ Doc 'The Real Wolf of Wall Street'
Hat Trick International sold the three-part series, co-produced by Maxine Productions, Bloomberg and See It Now Studios, for the UK and Australia.
The BBC in the UK and Stan in Australia have acquired the three-part documentary series The Real Wolf of Wall Street, Hat Trick International said. The deal covers both territories for the Paramount+ programme.
The series is co-produced by Maxine Productions, part of Sony Pictures Television, Bloomberg and See It Now Studios for Paramount+. It draws on unreleased footage, thousands of internal FBI documents and archival interviews, including with Jordan Belfort's former wife Nadine and former employee Donna Schlessinger.
Hat Trick International launched the programme at MIPCOM Cannes earlier in November 2026.
Behind the film
The documentary revisits the story that inspired The Wolf of Wall Street, the Leonardo DiCaprio and Margot Robbie film released through Paramount Pictures. Belfort led a team of brokers at Stratton Oakmont in the 1990s before pleading guilty to fraud and stock market manipulation; he was jailed for 22 months and later became an FBI informant.
