BTS's RM co-curates 'RM x SFMOMA: Between You and Me,' his first museum show, featuring 142 pieces from his collection and 36 works from SFMOMA.
RM of BTS is stepping into the art world as a co-curator. His debut exhibition, 'RM x SFMOMA: Between You and Me,' opens on October 3 at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art (SFMOMA) and runs through February 7, 2027.
The show marks RM's first time as a co-curator and the first museum exhibition of 142 pieces from his personal collection. In total, nearly 200 works by Korean and international artists will be on view, including 36 pieces from SFMOMA's own holdings.
Among the featured artists are To Sangbong, Yun Hyong-keun, Mark Rothko, Chang Ucchin, Henri Matisse, Georgia O'Keeffe, and Nam June Paik.
RM's engagement with art institutions has deepened over the years. In 2018, he visited The Art Institute of Chicago during a BTS tour, sparking his interest in art. In 2020, he donated approximately $80,000 to the Korean National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art Foundation. In 2022, he narrated an audio guide for LACMA's exhibition 'The Space Between: The Modern in Korean Art.' And in June 2025, the National Museum of Korea appointed him as its first Global Public Relations Ambassador.
