Soap Actor Robert Kelker-Kelly Dies at 62

Robert Kelker-Kelly, the actor best known for playing Bo Brady on Days Of Our Lives, died on October 3 at his home in St. Peters, Missouri, at the age of 62. TMZ was first to report the death, according to Deadline.

St. Peters police responded to his home around 8:16 p.m. for a report of an unconscious man who was not breathing. Kelker-Kelly had reportedly complained of chest pain shortly before becoming unresponsive, and police said the circumstances appeared consistent with a medical event.

Officers and paramedics administered life-saving measures but were unsuccessful.

Soap career and later life

Kelker-Kelly's acting career began in 1987 when he was cast as Sam Fowler on NBC's Another World, a role he played until 1990. In 1992 he took over the role of Bo Brady on Days Of Our Lives from Peter Reckell, playing opposite Kristian Alfonso's Hope Brady and Lisa Rinna's Billie Reed before Reckell returned in 1995.

In 1996 he returned to Another World as Bobby Reno, later revealed to be Dr. Shane Roberts, and played the role until 1998. He portrayed Stavros Cassadine on General Hospital in 2001, with guest spots from 2002 to 2014. Rinna recently revealed in her memoir, You Better Believe I'm Gonna Talk About It, that she and Kelker-Kelly had a difficult off-screen relationship; the two earned a Soap Opera Digest Award for Hottest Soap Couple in 1995. Kelker-Kelly later became a professional pilot, working in the field from 2003 to 2015.
