I Love Lucy is the only non-HBO series in the Top 10, landing at No. 9.
An older rivalry
Rome was launched by HBO around 2005, five years before Spartacus debuted on Starz in 2010. Spartacus aired for three seasons plus a prequel, while Rome ran for only two seasons because of its enormous budget.
Years ago, there were reports that a Rome film would be made, but nothing materialized. The series was created by John Milius, William J. MacDonald and Bruno Heller.
