The original run spanned fourteen issues, published by DC's Vertigo Comics. The story follows New Mexico governor Arcadia Alvarado, a presidential nominee who is abducted by aliens.
The series later continued as Saucer State, which ran for six issues in 2017 under IDW Publishing, followed by a finale issue in 2024 that was funded through crowdfunding.
The complete collection is now published by Image Comics, making the full saga available to readers ahead of the planned adaptation.
