See-Saw Releases Tenzing on Apple TV, Sets Miraculous Live-Action Series

See-Saw Films is releasing its most ambitious film, Tenzing, on Apple TV this week after a short stint in cinemas, and has announced a live-action series adaptation of Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug & Cat Noir with Mediawan's Miraculous Corp. The two moves were confirmed in an interview with Variety, the first major sit-down with See-Saw founders Iain Canning and Emile Sherman since the Mediawan acquisition.

Tenzing is directed by Jennifer Peedom and stars the Tibetan actor Gendan Phuntsok as Tenzing Norgay and Tom Hiddleston as Edmund Hillary. The film was shot in Nepal and New Zealand.

On the television side, season 6 of Slow Horses is out on Apple TV, with seasons 7 and 8 in production. See-Saw also plans to develop The NeverEnding Story into a major franchise, and holds an announced Entourage deal that expands its ability to greenlight its own productions.

Mediawan era and Australian slate

Canning and Sherman founded See-Saw Films in 2008 with dual headquarters in London and Sydney. In March 2025, Pierre-Antoine Capton's French studio Mediawan took a controlling stake in the company. See-Saw's past productions include the multi-Oscar winner The King's Speech, plus Lion, The Power of the Dog and One Life, while its television work includes Slow Horses, Heartstopper and Sweetpea. Heartstopper drew to a close after three seasons with a spin-off feature film, and last year's series Apple Cider Vinegar came from See-Saw's Australian office. From that same office, The Great White has Mediawan as sales distribution partner.
