A new adaptation of Sense and Sensibility directed by Georgia Oakley had its Los Angeles premiere on Wednesday, ahead of its theatrical release on October 16.
Daisy Edgar-Jones plays Elinor Dashwood in the film. Esmé Creed-Miles, Frank Dillane and George MacKay are among the cast, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Caitriona Balfe said many in the cast avoided watching Ang Lee's 1995 film.
Lee's 1995 adaptation starred Emma Thompson, Kate Winslet, Alan Rickman and Hugh Grant. It won an Oscar for Thompson's screenplay and was nominated for best picture.
Sense and Sensibility was Jane Austen's 1811 debut novel.
