GKIDS has set release dates for Shaun the Sheep: The Beast of Mossy Bottom: the film arrives on digital on October 23, 2026, and on Blu-ray and DVD on January 26, 2027, according to comingsoon.net. Radial Entertainment handles distribution.
Both the digital and the physical editions carry bonus features, including Behind the Scenes with the Creators, Scene Breakdowns: The Lab and Meeting the Vet, and Crafting a Poster, alongside teasers and trailers.
The Aardman Animations film is set at Halloween on Mossy Bottom Farm. After the Farmer destroys the Flock's pumpkin patch, Shaun takes on the role of a mad scientist.
Creators on the film's tone
Director Steve Cox, who previously worked as an animator on the first Shaun the Sheep film, and filmmaker Matthew Walker recently spoke with ComingSoon's Tyler Treese about the movie's silent-comedy style and its family-friendly horror overtones.
Walker compared the tone to Were-Rabbit, saying that film was more gothic while this one draws on 1980s adventure movies.
