Shifting Gears Hits Netflix US December 1 With Both Seasons
Netflix will add both seasons of ABC's Shifting Gears in the US on December 1, with an international rollout set for January 2027 ahead of Season 3.
Netflix has announced that Shifting Gears will arrive on its service in the United States on December 1. Both of the ABC sitcom's first two seasons will be available on that date.
The show will then roll out internationally on Netflix in January 2027. The streaming debut comes ahead of Season 3's premiere early next year.
The move is part of a broader licensing deal between Disney and Netflix that covers a stack of movies and television shows. Among the titles headed to the service are Will Trent, Percy Jackson and the Olympians, Felicity and all five original Ice Age movies.
Under that arrangement, Will Trent Seasons 1-4 arrive globally on November 3. Percy Jackson and the Olympians Seasons 1-2 hit Netflix on October 4 for a three-month window ahead of Season 3's Disney+ premiere, with all five Ice Age movies landing the same day.
Shifting Gears stars Tim Allen, whose sitcom career stretches back to Home Improvement in the '90s and continued through nine seasons of Last Man Standing. The series follows Matt, a widowed owner of a classic car restoration shop, whose estranged daughter Riley moves back home with her children.
