Shy & Lola, a new BBC drama starring Bel Powley and Hayley Squires, will be presented to international buyers at MIPCOM next week before its launch on the BBC, according to Deadline.
The series is written by Amanda Coe and produced by Clerkenwell Films. It is based on the French show Cheyenne & Lola, which starred Charlotte Le Bon and Veerle Baetens.
Set in Grimsby, the story follows two women who become allies when a murder draws them into the criminal underworld.
Deadline first revealed the project several months ago. Coe's previous credits include Apple TV's The New Look and the BBC's Apple Tree Yard. Squires appeared in Ken Loach's I, Daniel Blake a decade ago, while Powley had a small role in Julian Jarrold's A Royal Night Out.
