Shyamalan Says No More Unbreakable Films
M. Night Shyamalan tells Collider he doesn't plan another film in the Unbreakable universe, citing Bruce Willis's central role.
M. Night Shyamalan has said he does not think he will make another film in the Unbreakable universe. The director was asked about a possible new entry during an interview with Collider's Steve Weintraub, held to discuss his retrospective at this year's Beyond Fest at American Cinematheque.
Shyamalan said Bruce Willis is central to the Unbreakable world. Willis starred in the 2000 original alongside Samuel L. Jackson.
The director also revealed he has an idea for a character with a power that could fit the Unbreakable universe, but he does not want to force that character into the existing world.
Unbreakable was released in 2000. Split and Glass expanded the story into a trilogy with a showdown involving the Overseer, the Horde, and Elijah Price. Shyamalan's other films include Old, Trap, and Knock at the Cabin.
