Skydance will keep both the Paramount and Warner Bros. lots for at least five years after closing its merger with Warner Bros. Discovery, the company announced. The commitment is required under a settlement in a state attorneys general lawsuit.
At a press event on the Paramount lot, held hours after the merger closed, Skydance CEO David Ellison said film would likely be organized on one lot and television and streaming on another. He added that the company would also use its East Coast facilities and Santa Monica offices for animation.
The settlement in the state AGs' lawsuit, reached in October 2025, requires Skydance to keep both the Paramount and Warner Bros. lots for at least the next five years.
Background
In 2022, CBS Studios Center in Radford was sold, after which CBS divisions moved to the Sunset Gower offices in Hollywood. HBO had intended to relocate to the Warner Bros. Second Century Development before the Warner Bros. Discovery sales process put the plan on hold.
