Skydance Names George Cheeks, JB Perrette Co-Chairs of Skydance TV

Cheeks becomes Chief Content Officer and Perrette Chief Business Officer of the unit spanning Warner Bros. TV, CBS Studios and Paramount TV Studios.

Skydance unveiled its CEO Business Leadership Team, naming George Cheeks and JB Perrette as co-chairs of Skydance TV, according to Deadline. The structure pairs co-chairs who each share oversight of a division with another executive.

Cheeks takes the title of Chief Content Officer of Skydance TV. Perrette will serve as Chief Business Officer, overseeing ad sales, distribution, content sales and international operations.

Skydance TV spans the company's three TV studios along with Warner Bros. TV, CBS Studios, Paramount TV Studios, CBS and about 30 basic cable networks.

Cheeks's track record

Cheeks began his career at entertainment law firms Loeb & Loeb and Hansen Jacobson Teller and in Castle Rock Entertainment's business and legal department, before moving into senior roles at NBCUniversal. As EVP Business Operations for NBC and Universal TV, he was put in charge of NBC Late Night in 2014. In early 2018, Bonnie Hammer announced his appointment with Dawn Olmstead as UCP co-presidents, and later that year he was promoted to NBC Entertainment co-chairman alongside Paul Telegdy.

In 2020, Cheeks moved to then-ViacomCBS as President and CEO of CBS Entertainment, with David Nevins initially serving as the division's Chief Content Officer, a structure that changed in 2021. Over the past five years he oversaw CBS-branded operations in various roles, including as co-CEO of Paramount Global, and also oversaw Paramount's basic cable networks.
