Slow Horses Season 7 Wraps Filming as Season 8 Begins Production
Cast member Christopher Chung confirmed season 7 has finished shooting, a day after the season 6 finale aired on Apple TV+.
Filming on season 7 of Slow Horses is complete, and production on season 8 has already begun, cast member Christopher Chung confirmed, according to screenrant.com. The news came a day after the season 6 finale was released on 2026-10-21.
Seasons 7 and 8 will each adapt a single novel by Mick Herron, with season 7 drawing on Bad Actors and season 8 on Clown Town. Season 6 departed from that pattern, combining the stories of Joe Country and Slough House.
James Callis will reprise his role as Claude Whelan in season 7. Ethan Moorhouse and Joshua McGuire have joined the cast in roles that have not been confirmed, alongside Varada Sethu, Tuppence Middleton and Merab Ninidze.
Slow Horses has aired on Apple TV+ since 2022, and both seasons 7 and 8 were commissioned before season 6 premiered. Will Smith, the writer and executive producer who led the show's first five seasons, exited the series, while season 6 saw Olivia Cooke return as Sid Baker.
Herron's novel Clown Town was published in September 2025. He has also written five Slough House novellas and three standalone novels set in the same universe.
