Sony Promotes Maia Eyre to EVP at Columbia Pictures

Sony Pictures has promoted Maia Eyre to Executive Vice President of Creative Development at Columbia Pictures. She will report to Peter Kang, President of Production, at the studio's Culver City, California lot.
Eyre was previously Senior Vice President of Creative Development at Columbia, where she has been a key driver of the label's film slate.
Among her recent projects, Eyre brought in the romantic comedy Anyone But You, starring Glen Powell, which grossed $214 million worldwide. She also steered the Jack Black and Paul Rudd comedy Anaconda, which took in $135 million globally.
Earlier this year, Sony announced a producing deal with Sydney Sweeney and her production company Honey Trap, which Eyre brought in. She is currently shepherding Hollow, a Sleepy Hollow retelling starring Sweeney and Belmont Cameli.
Eyre is also overseeing the adaptation of the YA novel Fake Skating, with Amélie Hoeferle and Graham Campbell recently announced as stars and Will Gluck's Olive Bridge producing. The film is set for release next summer.
Eyre moved from Canada to Los Angeles in 2013 for the MFA Producer's Program at UCLA and began her career at Sony Pictures after an internship at TriStar Pictures. The promotion was first reported by Deadline.
