Ruffalo, Holland Talk Hulk-Spider-Man Future in New Featurette

Mark Ruffalo and Tom Holland addressed the future of Hulk and Spider-Man in the official Spider-Man: Brand New Day featurette, titled "Friends and Foes." The featurette includes comments from both actors about the characters' first on-screen meeting.

Ruffalo said the way Hulk and Spider-Man meet serves as a teaser for what is to come with the two characters. Holland said he always had a soft spot for Ruffalo and was excited to work with him, adding that finding a way for Spider-Man to fight the Hulk was an awesome opportunity.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day marked the first time Spider-Man and Hulk had actual scenes together. In the film, a big showdown occurs as Jean Grey takes over Hulk's mind.

Screen Rant reported on the featurette comments. Holland's return as Spider-Man came this summer after an absence from the Marvel Cinematic Universe timeline of more than five years, in a Phase 6 installment that became the year's highest-grossing film.

Holland first appeared as Spider-Man in Captain America: Civil War (2016), recruited by Tony Stark for an airport battle. He later starred in Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017), which featured the Vulture (Adrian Toomes) as the antagonist.
