Spider-Man: Brand New Day Bonus Feature Shows Comic Covers Brought to Life

Polygon revealed 'Live-Action Comics,' a bonus feature on the Spider-Man: Brand New Day home release that recreates iconic Marvel Comics covers.

Polygon has exclusively revealed a bonus feature titled "Live-Action Comics" from the home release of Spider-Man: Brand New Day. The feature shows how director Destin Daniel Cretton and stunt coordinator Peng Zhang recreated iconic Marvel Comics covers as live-action sequences for the film.

Two of the film's fights are drawn from specific comic book sources. The battle between Peter Parker and Tombstone is based on the cover of the 1988 Spectacular Spider-Man comic by Gerry Conway and Sal Buscema. The fight with Scorpion is inspired by Alex Saviuk's art in the 1995 issue of Spider-Man Adventures.

Home release details

The special features included in the digital version will also appear on the physical releases arriving Dec. 15. The regular DVD is priced at $25, the 4K Blu-ray at $45, and a special steelbook version at $150.99.

In October 2025, Spider-Man: Brand New Day became the top domestic box-office hit in U.S. history and earned $2.5 billion globally. The film stayed in theaters for 70 days before reaching video-on-demand platforms on Oct. 6.
