Star Trek VI 4K Steelbook Set for December 1 Release
Paramount Home Media Distribution's two-disc edition marks the film's 35th anniversary with Dolby Vision and both cuts of the movie.
Paramount Home Media Distribution has announced a 4K Blu-ray steelbook of Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country for the film's 35th anniversary, scheduled to arrive on Dec. 1, 2026, according to movieweb.com.
The edition presents the film in 4K resolution with Dolby Vision and HDR10. The two-disc set carries both the theatrical cut, which runs 110 minutes, and the director's cut at 113 minutes.
The steelbook artwork is a stylized version of the original theatrical teaser poster, with the USS Enterprise shown below the silhouette of Chancellor Gorkon's face.
Nicholas Meyer directed the film, which was released on December 6, 1991 and was the last to feature the original crew, including James T. Kirk, Spock and Leonard McCoy. The director's cut adds material involving the character Valeris.
Star Trek began on television in 1966. The film used the collapse of the Klingon Empire as an allegory for the end of the Cold War and the fall of the Berlin Wall.
