Stars Collective developing U.S. martial arts thriller starring Xie Miao

Stars Collective is developing an English-language action crime thriller set in the United States, with Xie Miao set to lead the cast, the company announced at the Busan International Film Festival's Asian Contents & Film Market, according to Variety.

The project will pursue the realistic martial arts action style seen in The Furious, the action hit Xie Miao most recently headlined.

Peter Luo, Wayne Wei Jiang and Wei Junzi are producing, with Nancy Xu producing for Stars Collective.

Xie Miao began his career as a child actor and won multiple wushu championship titles. He broke through opposite Jet Li in The New Legend of Shaolin and My Father Is a Hero, holds a degree in ethnic sports, worked on martial arts television shows, and later landed the lead in the Eye for an Eye franchise.

Stars Collective launched in 2020 and is based in Los Angeles, running operations in China and Japan. The company says it has more than 60 original properties in development across film, animation, games, merchandise and immersive experiences, and counts over 320 filmmakers and artists from 45 countries among its members.
