Tallinn Black Nights Unveils Competition Lineups With 21 World Premieres

Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival has announced the lineups for its official selection and First Feature competitions, according to Variety. Together the two sections include 21 world premieres.

The official selection comprises 12 world premieres from 15 countries, and its Grand Prix is worth €20,000 ($22,500). Christopher Hampton heads the jury for the official selection.

The First Feature competition features nine world premieres and three international premieres from 19 countries. Ray Panthaki's feature directorial debut, In Starland, is among the titles in that section.

José María Cabral's Sh*t Happens was placed in the official selection.

In background, the First Feature section received around 400 submissions from 86 countries. Triin Tramberg takes over artistic directing duties from Tiina Lokk, and Malaika Bova serves as curator of the First Feature section in her first year.
