TBellScout buys Flawless dubbing tech after UK firm's collapse

Steven Schuurman's startup acquired TrueSync and DeepEditor after insolvency specialist BTG took over Flawless Holdings Limited's operations.

TBellScout, a startup owned by Dutch tech billionaire Steven Schuurman, has acquired Flawless's TrueSync dubbing technology and the AI post-production tool DeepEditor, Schuurman confirmed to Deadline. He declined to comment further.

The purchase follows the collapse of Flawless Holdings Limited, the UK trading company founded in 2020 that held the technology. The company filed for administration earlier in October 2026, and insolvency specialist BTG took over its operations and sold the technology to TBellScout.

Sprk Capital, a UK-based tech lender, appointed BTG as administrator and holds fixed and floating charges over Flawless. Flawless co-founder Scott Mann declined to comment, and Amit Kapur, who became co-CEO in March 2026, did not respond to a request for comment.

Flawless co-founders Scott Mann and Nick Lynes remain in control of Flawless AI Inc., the U.S. business, and are said to be exploring a new venture.

Built on a $100 million bet

Flawless spent $100 million building SAG-AFTRA-endorsed AI dubbing technology, raised through wealthy individuals rather than venture capital. TrueSync was named one of Time Magazine's Best Inventions, and the tools were used on Swedish sci-fi film Watch the Skies, the first theatrical full-length feature to use immersive AI dubbing, released in U.S. theaters in partnership with XYZ Films.

Other projects included Michel Gondry's The Book of Solutions, Judo thriller Tatami, South Korean title Smugglers, Stéphan Castang's Vincent Must Die and Berlin Film Festival opener The Light. Mann's 2022 thriller Fall became a case study for the technology, using AI to visually dub swearing out of the movie to secure a PG-13 rating.
