The trailer brings back Seth MacFarlane and Mark Wahlberg as the voices of Ted and John, the roles they originated on the big screen. Amanda Seyfried and Jessica Barth also return to voice Sam and Tami-Lynn, while Kyle Mooney and Liz Richman join as series regulars playing new characters Apollo and Ruth.
The animated story picks up 12 years after the ending of Ted 2, continuing the franchise's timeline in a new format. The series serves as a sequel to the last film, following the 2012 original and its 2015 follow-up, as well as Peacock's live-action Ted series that explored a teenage John.
In March, MacFarlane told ScreenRant that "as of now, there are no direct plans" for a third season of the live-action show, later clarifying to TheWrap that the decision stemmed from the series being expensive to produce. The live-action Peacock show holds an 87% critics' score and 91% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes, while the original film sits at 68% with critics and 73% with audiences, and the sequel earned 45% and 50% respectively.
