Brendan Hunt Says No Season 5 Signal From Jason Sudeikis Yet

Ted Lasso co-creator Brendan Hunt has addressed the possibility of a fifth season, saying there is currently no indication from Jason Sudeikis that another season will happen. Hunt made the comments in an interview with Variety following the season 4 finale.

Hunt also said the team had always hoped to return for more than one season. Despite that ambition, he offered no confirmation that a fifth season is in the works, and Ted Lasso season 5 remains unconfirmed.

Asked about where the story could go, Hunt mentioned potential storylines including Ted and Beard working as peers, Roy and Keeley becoming parents, Rebecca being married, the pub owners, and the team's reaction to Alice as leader.

What Happened at the End of Season 4

Season 4 concluded with Ted stepping down as manager of AFC Richmond's women's team and becoming an assistant manager alongside Coach Beard. In the finale, Roy accepted a job managing Chelsea and he and Keeley prepare to become parents, while Rebecca proposed to Matthijs.

The show took a three-year hiatus between its third and fourth seasons. Apple TV exec Eddy Cue told ScreenRant in mid-August that the chances were looking strong for the show to continue, and fellow exec Matt Cherniss indicated the month prior that the three-time Emmy winner was ready to get to work on the next season.
