The Boys Cast Reflects on Finale as Vought Rising Looms
Karl Urban and co-stars discussed The Boys' ending at FanX Salt Lake City, as the franchise expands with Vought Rising next year.
The Boys has closed its doors after five seasons and eight years on Prime Video, and the cast is looking back on the journey. The series premiered in 2019 and aired its finale earlier this year, ending the story of Butcher and his crew.
At a FanX panel in Salt Lake City hosted by Collider's Steve Weintraub, Karl Urban, Jessie T. Usher, and Chace Crawford spoke about their time on the show. Urban singled out Butcher's final scene in Hughie's arms as one of his favorite moments in the entire series.
The finale saw Butcher defeat Homelander but vow to release a virus that would kill all supes. Hughie killed Butcher to stop him, while A-Train died at Homelander's hands earlier in the season and The Deep was killed by aquatic life after losing a battle with Starlight.
Despite the flagship series ending, the franchise continues. Gen V was cancelled after two seasons, but a spin-off titled Vought Rising is set to arrive next year.
