Ridley Scott's The Dog Stars Hits No. 1 on Prime Video Worldwide
The film, starring Josh Brolin and Jacob Elordi, topped the Prime Video chart after its theatrical run ended just short of $40 million globally.
Ridley Scott's The Dog Stars has reached No. 1 on Prime Video worldwide, according to collider.com. The film, which stars Josh Brolin and Jacob Elordi, is no longer showing in theaters and is available on VOD.
The streaming milestone follows a modest theatrical run. The Dog Stars finished its time in cinemas just short of $40 million at the global box office and drew mediocre reviews at release.
For Scott, the film marks a return to science fiction for the first time since Alien: Covenant in 2017. In between, he directed Napoleon with Joaquin Phoenix in 2023, which barely earned back its $200 million budget and was estimated to be a major loss for the studio.
At the end of 2024, Scott released Gladiator II, which struggled at the box office against a $250 million production budget but later became one of the most-watched movies on Paramount Plus.
