Arrow Video Sets The Frighteners 4K Blu-ray for October 27, 2026

The three-disc limited edition pairs the 110-minute theatrical cut and the 123-minute director's cut in 4K with a new Dolby Atmos mix.

Arrow Video has announced a limited edition 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray of Peter Jackson's The Frighteners, due in the United States on October 27, 2026, according to movieweb.com. The three-disc set carries both the 110-minute theatrical cut and the 123-minute director's cut, each presented in 4K from the original camera negative with Dolby Vision.

Audio differs between the two versions. The director's cut arrives with a newly remixed Dolby Atmos track, while the original lossless theatrical mix is also included.

The packaging adds a reversible sleeve and a collector's booklet. The booklet collects Jackson's 1998 LaserDisc introduction, original production notes, and two 1996 American Cinematographer articles.

Among the extras is No Way to Make a Living: A Look Back at The Frighteners, a feature-length 2022 documentary.

The Frighteners was released in 1996, executive produced by Robert Zemeckis and starring Michael J. Fox. A 2011 Blu-ray drew criticism for print flaws, digital noise reduction and a bass-heavy audio track; the Turbine Medien release that reached the German market in 2022 used the same video transfer.
