The Mosquito Bowl Trailer Debuts Ahead of October 30 Theatrical Release
Netflix's WWII film The Mosquito Bowl, directed by Peter Berg, hits theaters October 30 and streams November 25.
A new trailer has debuted for The Mosquito Bowl, the Netflix World War II film directed by Peter Berg. The film will premiere in theaters on October 30 before making its Netflix debut on November 25.
Berg co-wrote the script with Mark L. Smith. The film is based on Buzz Bissinger's non-fiction bestseller The Mosquito Bowl: A Game of Life and Death in World War II.
The project reunites Berg with Bissinger's material. Bissinger first gained prominence for his 1990 book Friday Night Lights; Berg wrote and directed the film adaptation of that book and created and executive produced its TV spinoff.
The title refers to a football game played by 65 Marines on Guadalcanal during World War II. According to Bissinger's book, 15 of those players did not survive the Battle of Okinawa.
