Universal Sets Digital and 4K Release for The Odyssey
Universal will submit Matt Damon for Best Actor and five others for supporting categories, according to joblo.com.
Universal has set a November 17, 2026 release for Christopher Nolan's The Odyssey on digital rental and purchase and on 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray, and has confirmed which cast members it will put forward for Oscar acting consideration, according to joblo.com.
Matt Damon is being submitted for Best Actor. Anne Hathaway and Samantha Morton are being submitted in the Best Supporting Actress category, while Tom Holland, John Leguizamo and Robert Pattinson are being submitted for Best Supporting Actor.
The studio is not submitting Zendaya, Charlize Theron, Lupita Nyong'o, Jon Bernthal, Elliot Page or Himesh Patel in acting categories.
Nolan previously directed Oppenheimer, which had major success at the Academy Awards. In October 2025, Universal placed Anne Hathaway in the Best Supporting Actress category partly to avoid competing with Julianne Moore's Best Actress campaign for The Debut.
The Odyssey has earned roughly $1.55 billion worldwide, making it Nolan's highest-grossing movie to date. IMAX screenings account for $257 million of that total.
