Set in 1886 London, Remnants follows Eleanor, played by Lucy Boynton, as she appraises an abandoned haunted castle called Woldmere Castle. Ralph Ineson plays a local who warns her that the mansion is haunted; the two meet in a pub in the film's opening scene.
Apple shot its immersive demo content in 180-degree 3D 8K Apple Immersive Video with Spatial Audio, a format the company has offered for only a few months.
Variety notes that the film's high realism produces a frame-rate effect compared with motion smoothing and high frame rate films.
