Tom Hardy Confirms Taboo Season 2 Scripts Are Being Written
Tom Hardy says Taboo season 2 is in development, with scripts currently being written for the BBC and FX historical thriller.
Tom Hardy has confirmed that Taboo season 2 is moving forward. In an interview with Pop Drop published on September 18, the actor said the scripts for the long-awaited second season are being written.
The update marks a rare concrete sign of progress on a follow-up that has been discussed for years. Taboo first debuted on the BBC and FX in 2017, and the series was renewed for a second season nine years ago.
Hardy has previously hinted at where the story could go. In 2021, he told Esquire that he had an idea for season 2 involving a time jump to the Vietnam War era.
More recently, in January 2026, series co-creator Steven Knight said he and Hardy had discussed how to continue the story of James Delaney.
Screen Rant reported Hardy's latest comments. No release date or further production details have been announced.
