Universal, Blumhouse Set Winter 2027 Release for 'River'
Universal and Blumhouse have scheduled a winter 2027 release for 'River,' the TIFF Midnight Madness title.
Universal Pictures and Blumhouse have set a winter 2027 release date for the film River, the companies announced. The title first drew attention as part of the Toronto International Film Festival's Midnight Madness lineup.
The winter 2027 window places River in one of the year's busiest corridors for genre releases, a slot that has often favored horror and thriller titles from the Blumhouse pipeline.
Universal and Blumhouse have a long-standing partnership on mid-budget genre films, and River joins that slate with a date now locked in.
Deadline reported the release date. Further details, including the full cast and a specific day within the winter 2027 window, were not included in the announcement.
