UTA Restructures Film, TV and Talent Units Into New Filmed Entertainment Division

UTA has merged its film, TV and talent departments into a new Filmed Entertainment unit, promoting Matt Rice to president, CEO David Kramer announced Thursday.

UTA has restructured its film, TV and talent departments into a single new unit called UTA Filmed Entertainment, the agency announced Thursday. CEO David Kramer revealed the changes in a memo to staff that morning.

Matt Rice has been promoted to president of UTA Filmed Entertainment. Allan Haldeman, Blair Kohan, Jay Gassner and Julien Thuan have been elevated to managing partners of the new division.

In the new structure, Amanda Hymson and Jordan Lonner will lead Motion Picture Literary, while Lucinda Moorhead and Mickey Berman will run TV Literary. Hanley Baxter and John Sacks will head the talent division alongside Mike Jelline.

UTA has also formed a Filmed Entertainment board that includes Jelline, Berman, Moorhead, Jason Burns, Marissa Devins, Dan Erlij, Chris Hart, Jason Heyman, Keya Khayatian, Rich Klubeck, Billy Lazarus, Gregory McKnight, David Park, Theresa Peters, Shani Rosenzweig and Larry Salz.

Rice joined UTA in 2002 after starting his career at the Broder Kurland literary agency. He represents writers, directors and showrunners including Phil Lord & Chris Miller, Michael Schur, Alec Berg, Bill Hader, Seth Rogen & Evan Goldberg, Will Forte, Justin Halpern & Patrick Schumacker, R. Scott Gemmill, James Gunn, Dan Goor, Chris McKenna & Erik Sommers, Adam Reed, Sebastian Maniscalco and Matt Rife.
