The third episode of VisionQuest, titled Reboot, reveals Paladin's backstory during a conversation with his Handler, according to comingsoon.net. The episode lays out a history of violent encounters that preceded the character's current storyline.
In that conversation, Paladin is said to have had a prior violent encounter in Brooklyn with Frank Castle, the Punisher. He is also said to have been attacked by Jack Russell, Werewolf by Night, leaving bite marks.
The episode further reveals that Paladin clashed with Matt Murdock, Daredevil, and received a concussion from a steel fiber billy club. The Ten Rings syndicate is said to have provided him with his Adamantium vest, which saved his life during his battle against Vision.
The backstory also establishes that Paladin was adopted and raised by a member of the Paladin order rather than being one by blood.
