VisionQuest Reveals Jocasta as the Butcherbird Killer
Episodes 5 and 6 of the Marvel series confirm the cloaked figure is the android Jocasta, played by T'Nia Miller, according to Den of Geek.
VisionQuest has unmasked its cloaked mystery. Episodes 5 and 6 of the Marvel series revealed that the figure known as the Butcherbird Killer is Jocasta, an android who resembles Ultron, according to Den of Geek.
The character is played by T'Nia Miller, who was announced as Jocasta long before the reveal. Her identity had remained a running question across the season's first four episodes.
The series is led in part by scientist Katerina Wells, played by Mary McDonnell.
A long comics history
Jocasta is not new to the page. She first appeared in 1977's Avengers #162, by Jim Shooter and George Pérez, in a story billed as "The Bride of Ultron."
A year later, in Avengers #170, Ultron reactivated Jocasta and forced her to become his bride, but she rebelled and sided with the Avengers as an auxiliary member. In 1980's Avengers #197, by David Michelinie and Carmine Infantino, the Avengers recognized her as an equal. During the 2015 Rage of Ultron storyline, Hank Pym merged with Ultron, and Jocasta saw the combination as a way to become human.
