Walmart Debuts Muppets Christmas Ad With Walton Goggins as Scrooge

The first spot in Walmart's 2026 holiday campaign casts Walton Goggins as Scrooge alongside The Muppets and uses a Paul Williams song.

Walmart has released the first commercial in its 2026 Christmas campaign, a spot titled A Who Knew Carol that stars The Muppets and casts Walton Goggins as Ebenezer Scrooge. The ad debuted on October 26, 2026, according to firstshowing.net.

The promo is the first in a series of films in which Scrooge meets the Ghost of Christmas Presents, the Ghost of Deals to Come and the Ghost of Christmas Fast. Spanish-language spots in the campaign feature Stephanie Beatriz as Scrooge's niece.

The campaign was created by Publicis Groupe's Walmart agency teams Dept W and Pub W and directed by Radical Media director Randall Einhorn.

The ad uses the song "Scrooge", written by Paul Williams for The Muppet Christmas Carol. That film, which featured the same song, was released in 1992, and an extended version of it is available on Disney+.

More videos featuring The Muppets and the Scrooge character are to be released throughout the 2026 holidays.
