HBO Legal Drama War Tops Network Charts as Season 2 Cast Revealed
War reached number one on HBO's TV charts on October 22, 2026, while its second season, a defamation case story with a mostly new cast, is already filmed.
HBO and Sky's legal drama War reached the top of HBO's TV charts, according to data tracked by FlixPatrol on October 22, 2026. The series now ranks as the number one drama on HBO and the number four TV show overall on the service, a list that includes documentaries and reality programming. It also holds the number one spot among all HBO content accessed through Amazon Channels.
The chart performance arrives as attention turns to the show's second season, which has already been filmed with a largely new cast. As an anthology series, War rotates most of its performers between seasons, though cast members playing lawyers at the firms Cathcarts & Sons and Taylor & Byrne return.
Marisa Tomei, Kelly Macdonald, David Harewood and Richard Schiff are joining the season 2 cast, alongside fourteen announced supporting cast members including Claire Skinner and Douglas Booth. Season 2 will center on a high-profile defamation case. No official release date or release window has been announced.
Long lead-in to launch
In May 2026, Deadline reported the season 2 cast, five months before the show's debut. HBO and Sky gave War a two-season order from the outset. According to the Sky website, season 2 began filming early this year and wrapped in September, while season 1 spent approximately eight months in post-production.
