William Shatner has taken on a new role: frontman of a heavy metal band called The *uckers. The group recently performed at Riot Fest in Chicago, where they covered songs by Metallica, Motörhead, and Ozzy Osbourne.

The band is currently touring and plans to release an album later this year titled What the F is Heavy Metal.

Shatner has hinted that The *uckers are on the lineup for Coachella 2027, though no artists have been officially announced for the festival.

Beyond his music career, Shatner is known for decades of screen work. He reprised his role as James T. Kirk in the years after Star Trek went off the air, culminating in Star Trek Generations. He also played a veteran cop in T.J. Hooker, hosted Rescue 911, and starred in Miss Congeniality.

Later in his career, he played attorney Denny Crane in The Practice and Boston Legal, and hosted The UnXplained for almost a decade. He has released several albums and published dozens of books, including his autobiography Captain's Log. He also flew aboard Blue Origin NS-18 and briefly held the record for the oldest person to fly in outer space.

His debut album, The Transformed Man, came out in 1968, and his most successful album to date is Seeking Major Tom, released in 2011.
