Hulu's X-Files Reboot Adds Danielle Deadwyler and Himesh Patel as Leads
Ryan Coogler is leading development of the Hulu reboot, which follows two FBI officers assigned to a long-shuttered division.
Danielle Deadwyler and Himesh Patel will star in Hulu's reboot of The X-Files, with Ryan Coogler leading development, according to screenrant.com. The official premise describes two vastly different FBI officers assigned to a long-shuttered division devoted to cases involving unexplained phenomena.
The premise's reference to a "long-shuttered" division indicates the new series is set after the original X-Files unit was closed, though the facts do not confirm a direct narrative connection to the earlier show.
Chris Carter, who created the original series, is not directly involved with the reboot in any capacity. The original The X-Files aired from 1993 to 2018 on FOX, following FBI agents Fox Mulder and Dana Scully as they investigated paranormal cases, with Carter serving as showrunner.
