X-Men '97 Seasons 3 and 4 Confirmed for 2027 and 2028

Marvel has confirmed that X-Men '97 season 3 will be released in 2027, with season 4 following in 2028. The announcement locks in a long-term future for the animated series on Disney+.

The show has been a standout for Marvel Studios since its debut. Season 1 premiered on March 20, 2024, and season 2 followed in 2025. Season 1 saw the team facing off against Bastion, while season 2 introduced Apocalypse.

Critically, X-Men '97 is the highest-rated Marvel Studios production on Disney+ at 98% on Rotten Tomatoes, an 11% increase over Loki's rating. It also holds an 8.7/10 IMDb rating, higher than the original Daredevil show and Loki's 8.2 score.

Among the 13 live-action Disney+ shows produced by Marvel Studios, only Loki and Daredevil: Born Again have spawned more than one season. X-Men '97 is now set to surpass that with four seasons.

The series' reach extends beyond streaming. Spider-Man: Brand New Day introduced Jean Grey to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, with Sadie Sink confirmed for a role in the upcoming X-Men project by Jake Schreier, set for release in 2028. Meanwhile, Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars will both feature X-Men characters in a big way.
