Xolo Maridueña to Make Broadway Debut in Buena Vista Social Club

Xolo Maridueña will make his Broadway debut in Buena Vista Social Club, playing the role of Juan De Marcos for seven weeks beginning Tuesday, November 17, at the Schoenfeld Theatre. His limited engagement runs through Sunday, January 3, 2027.

The casting was reported by Deadline. Maridueña joins a production that has been a fixture on Broadway since opening in March 2025.

Since then, Buena Vista Social Club has earned five Tony Awards and a Grammy Award. The musical continues to draw audiences with its celebration of Cuban music and the story behind the legendary ensemble.

Maridueña is known to television audiences for his role as Miguel Diaz in Netflix's Cobra Kai, which aired its final episode in 2025. He also starred as the title character in DC Comics' Blue Beetle (2023) and will return in next year's sequel. He recently appeared in Practical Magic 2 alongside Nicole Kidman and Sandra Bullock.

His stage debut comes as the production welcomes several guest performers. Gina Torres will join the musical as Omara Portuondo from October 13 through November 29, 2026. José Iglesias joined the production on August 27 through November 15, 2026, and Bernie Williams will join for six weeks from October 22 through November 29, 2026.
