Abxylute Launches Kickstarter for M5 and M6 Mobile Gamepads

The M6 costs $89.99 and the M5 $84.99, with discounted early bird tiers and a translucent green M5 Founder's Edition.

Abxylute has launched a Kickstarter campaign for the M5 and M6, two mobile gamepads that connect to a phone for handheld play, according to Android Authority. The company is funding the controllers through the crowdfunding platform rather than a direct retail launch.

The Abxylute M6 is priced at $89.99, with a regular Kickstarter price of $69 and an early bird price of $65. The Abxylute M5 is priced at $84.99, with a regular Kickstarter price of $65 and an early bird price of $59. Backers can also choose an M5 Founder's Edition with a translucent green shell.

The M6 supports Bluetooth 5.3 for wireless play and carries a 500mAh battery rated for up to 10 hours of gameplay. It uses capacitive thumbsticks, linear Hall Effect triggers, six-axis gyro control and a customizable Z button.

The M5 takes a different approach: it measures 8.5mm at its thinnest point and has no battery, so it requires a physical connection to the phone. Both controllers work with the Abxy app, which handles game launching and control customization.

Earlier model

Abxylute previously released the M4 mobile controller. The company says the M5 and M6 were designed around feedback from M4 users who asked for larger joysticks, a fuller grip and more comfort during longer sessions.
