Akihabara AMD Ryzen Prices Jump 30-40% in October Survey

Street prices for AMD Ryzen CPUs at Akihabara shops climbed again in the survey period from September 26 to October 10, 2026, with the Ryzen 9000 series leading the way with increases of roughly 30 to 40 percent, according to the price survey published by AKIBA PC Hotline!.

The Ryzen 9 9900X3D rose 24,700 yen (28.0%) to 112,800 yen, while the Ryzen 7 9800X3D added 14,820 yen (24.7%) to reach 74,800 yen. The Ryzen 7 9700X was up 11,820 yen (29.6%) at 51,800 yen, and the lowest price for the Ryzen 5 9600 rose 12,599 yen (42.0%) to 42,579 yen.

Older generations moved as well: the Ryzen 7 8700G rose 1,819 yen to 53,799 yen, the Ryzen 5 8600G gained 3,005 yen to 36,800 yen and the Ryzen 5 8500G climbed 3,300 yen to 28,980 yen. The Ryzen 7 7800X3D added 5,000 yen to 54,800 yen, and the Ryzen 7 7700X3D rose 15,000 yen (32.8%) to 60,800 yen. The Ryzen 7 5800XT was up 5,680 yen at 47,480 yen and the Ryzen 7 5700X up 7,820 yen at 37,800 yen.

On the Intel side, lowest prices for most models were flat, with only the Core Ultra 5 250K Plus falling 3,100 yen to 38,580 yen.

The increases follow a mixed picture in late September and early October. On September 26, the Ryzen 7 9850X3D was 1,450 yen cheaper at 76,180 yen, and on October 3 the Ryzen 9 9950X3D2 fell 1,548 yen to 168,678 yen, the Ryzen 9 9950X3D dropped 6,036 yen to 126,764 yen and the Ryzen 5 9600X slipped 4,180 yen to 39,800 yen. As of October 10, the Ryzen 9 9950X3D was still selling at the same price, and the Ryzen 7 5800X3D 10th Anniversary Edition had dropped 1,099 yen to 63,700 yen at some shops. The Ryzen 5 9600 had previously dipped below 30,000 yen at some stores.
