Apple Unveils Home Collection Smart Home Lineup

Apple announced the Apple Home Collection, a new smart home product lineup that includes a smart door lock, a video doorbell, a thermostat, a temperature sensor and a security camera, according to digitaltoday.co.kr. The products will launch in December alongside HomeView, Apple's new smart home hub.

The lineup also includes a floodlight camera priced at $399.95 that combines outdoor lighting with video monitoring. The camera features live viewing, motion detection, intelligent notifications and video storage. The HomeView hub controls connected accessories and interacts with Apple software.

Two devices carry specific pricing: a $349.95 smart deadbolt door lock with ultra-wideband (UWB) wireless technology that enables automatic unlocking when an authenticated user approaches, and a $249.95 wired video doorbell that lets users check visitors and activity outside the home. When someone rings the doorbell, a chime sounds on HomeView, HomePod and HomePod mini, and notifications are sent to iPhone and iPad.

The temperature sensor shows environmental conditions per room, allowing users to check and adjust different temperatures for each space.

Apple developed the newly unveiled devices in cooperation with LG Electronics and Schneider Electric.
